Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) seeks a Service Technician. Under general supervision of the Director of Broadband Technologies, installs, disconnects and services Digital, high definition and PVR cable television, internet and/or digital phone service for subscribers. Acts as backup support for cable, internet and/or digital phone service customer support.


Perform routine and custom Digital, high definition and PVR cable installations; dig line trenches; climb poles and utilize aerial equipment to connect, reconnect or disconnect services; utilize drills and other hand and power tools in support of cable installation. Retrieve cable boxes and collect required funds as requested. Respond to service calls to diagnose and detect problems with taps, fittings, splitters, line extenders, power suppliers and amplifiers. Utilize testing equipment as necessary. Respond to routine customer inquiries and complaints related to cable, internet and/or digital phone service and refer unresolved matters to supervisor. Enforce Department policy regarding illegal system tapping and notify

This is a union position with a starting salary of $33.28 an hour.
